A letter for their 18th birthday, their graduation or their wedding day — written today, in your words and your voice, and kept safe until then.
Why write a letter for the future?
The small things you notice today — the second tooth, the first bike ride, what made them laugh — are the things they will most want to know later. A letter keeps them, exactly as you saw them.
How it works
Write it now, on paper that feels like paper
A lined page, a title, and room for everything you want to say. Add a photo and a voice note so they hear it in your voice.
Deliver it when the time is right
On a date, at an age (10, 13, 16, 18, 21, 25 or 30), at a milestone you mark (graduation, first job, wedding, first baby, leaving home), or keep it in your vault.
Sealed means sealed
Once you seal a letter the words, photo and voice note can't change, so it stays exactly as you meant it. You can always add a P.S.
Private by default
Only you can read it. Share a single letter with your co-parent if you want to. Your child never sees it, or knows it exists, until it's delivered.
However they're reached
Into their own OptiAI® account with a quiet notification, by a private email link they open with a one-time code, or printed as a keepsake.
They can write back
When a letter arrives, your child can write back to you from the same page.
Kept safe for years
Letters have no expiry. The words, photo and voice note are encrypted, and nobody — including a future you — can quietly rewrite a sealed letter. "If something happens to me", where a trusted person can release your letters, is coming soon.
Frequently asked questions
Can anyone else read my letters?
No. Letters are encrypted at rest and only you can read them. You can choose to share one letter with a co-parent; household owners and other family members never can. Opti and connected AI assistants see only the title and when it is sealed until.
What if my child doesn't have an account yet?
When the day comes, OptiAI asks you how it should reach them: link their account, email them a private link, or print it as a keepsake.
What happens to a letter if I delete my account?
Letters that have not been delivered are deleted with your account. A letter that has already been delivered stays with your child.
Can I change a letter after sealing it?
No — that is what sealing means. You can add a P.S. until it is delivered, or delete an undelivered letter.
How do I start?
Open Childcare, then Letters, or just tell Opti: "write a letter to Sam".
