The shoebox, upgraded
Allowance usually lives in a shoebox, a jar on the shelf or a parent's memory. Kids' Money keeps the same idea, three jars and a little ledger, in the app your family already uses, so everyone can see what has come in, what has gone out and how close a goal is.
Everything a first money lesson needs
Save, Spend and Give jars
Every child gets three jars, plus custom ones like "Bike fund". New money splits between them the way you choose, 50/40/10 to start.
Allowance that adds itself
Set the amount, how often and the day. It is added on schedule; a missed one shows as due and is never paid twice. Pause any time.
Chores that earn
Give a chore a money value on top of its Chore Stars. You approve each payment, or let a chore pay automatically.
Goals with a family match
Your child picks a goal and you can add a family match on every deposit, shown as its own line so they can see your part.
Ask before spending
Kids tap "I want to spend" and you approve, suggest a smaller amount, or say "not now" with a kind reason. Jars never go below zero.
Cash in Chore Stars
Set a rate like 10 stars for 1 unit of your currency, with an optional minimum and weekly limit. Kids tap "Cash in my stars" and you say yes or "not now" — the stars come straight back if it is a no.
Routines that pay
Give a whole morning, bedtime or homework routine a small money value. It is added once each time the routine is finished, on top of its stars.
Lessons and quizzes
Two-to-four minute lessons for ages 4-7, 8-12 and 13-17: needs and wants, saving, giving, compound interest and spotting scams.
Templates for every age, in your currency
Not sure where to start? Kids' Money suggests a weekly allowance and jar split for your child's age, a star rate, starter chores with stars (and optional pay), morning, bedtime and homework routines, reward ideas like picking the family movie, and savings goals like a new book or a bike. Amounts follow your household's currency, from rupees to pounds to yen. One tap sets it up, and you can change anything.
Link a real bank account
When your child has their own bank account or card, link it to Kids' Money. Shop purchases go to Spend, donations to Give, and a savings account keeps the Save jar in step. Payments to people, refunds and unclear shops wait in a short "Check these" list for you — tap Spend, Give or Save once and Opti remembers that shop. You see what they spent by category, their top shops, allowance compared with actual, their saving rate and how close they are to their goal. Ask Opti "how did Emma spend her money this month?" in the app, on WhatsApp or Telegram. Opti only reads the account, nothing moves, and it is available where bank linking is (the US and Canada).
Kind by design
There are no leaderboards and no comparisons between children. A "not now" always comes with a gentle reason, a jar can never go negative, and the youngest kids always check with a parent before spending.
Rolling out now
Kids' Money is part of Wealth in OptiAI and is rolling out to families. Full Access is free forever with every module included.
Keep the paperwork in the Document Vault. School reports, certificates and account papers can sit in one private vault; children never see documents unless an adult turns that on.
