Quick answer: OptiAI® has a shared shopping list that every household member can add to from iPhone, Android or the web, and you can tell Opti "add milk to the list" instead of typing. Full Access is free forever. Where available, you can also turn a list into an Instacart cart link when you choose to.
Updated October 2026. We make OptiAI, so please check other products' current pages before you decide.
What makes a shared list actually work
- Everyone can add from wherever they notice the empty carton.
- Items show up for the person at the store immediately.
- It connects to the meal plan so you are not retyping ingredients.
- It knows what is already in the pantry.
How it works in OptiAI
The shopping list lives in the same household as the calendar, meal plan and pantry. Members add items in the app, or ask Opti in the app, WhatsApp or Telegram to add them, and in a connected Telegram family group you can mention Opti to add to the list. Opti confirms before saving.
On a phone call with Opti you can also ask it to add something to the shopping list (where call features are available).
From list to groceries
If you want delivery, OptiAI can build an Instacart cart link when you choose to order. We send Instacart a list of items with no personal identifiers, and Instacart returns a checkout URL. Delivery availability depends on your region.
Limits to know about
A shared list is only as good as the habit. Agree one place for it, and delete the old group-chat version. For more on how shared lists save money, see shared grocery lists and saving money.
A simple shared-list routine
Add the pantry and meal plan habit only after the list itself is working.
- Keep one list per household, not one per person.
- Add items the moment you notice them; do not wait for the weekly shop.
- Let whoever shops tick items off as they go.
- Check the pantry before adding staples so you do not double-buy.
Fewer trips, fewer duplicates
Two people buying the same item is the classic shared-list failure, and it usually comes from lists that live in separate places. One list the whole household edits solves most of it, because whoever is shopping sees what has already been ticked off. Pair it with the pantry so staples are checked before they are added, and with the meal plan so the ingredients appear once, not twice.
